(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) Oct. 31, 2011—The music ministry of Christ Presbyterian Church in Nashville, Tenn. announces the release of its first Christmas project, Christmas Gift, Nov. 6. Proceeds from the sale of Christmas Gift will assist Heart for Children in its ongoing efforts in orphan care, foster care, educational seminars and adoption.
Primarily recorded at The Tracking Room, one of Music City’s premiere recording studios, Christmas Gift features the church’s 100-member choir, worship band and musicians on 11 Christmas favorites. Among those songs is an original piano arrangement of opening track “Gloria” by Gordon Mote, who recently received the Academy of Country Music's Piano/Keyboard Player of the Year Award.
Under the direction of Lynn Hodges, director of worship and music at CPC, the project also features noted Nashville arrangers and studio musicians John Coates, Mark Hammond, Craig Nelson, Eric Darken, Jeff Taylor, Steve Patrick, Paul Brannen, David Davidson and others. Additional Christmas classics include “Carol of the Bells,” “O Come, O Come Emmanuel,” and “The First Noel.” A complete track listing is as follows:
1. Gloria
2. Carol of the Bells
3. Gesu Bambino
4. O Come, O Come Emmanuel
5. Salvation Is Created
6. For Unto Us/O Come All Ye Faithful
7. Anthem for Christmas
8. Glory to God
9. Silent, Holy Night
10. The First Noel

Hodges comments about the release, “Through the creation of this CD our hope is that listeners will glorify God and their enjoyment in Him will continually increase. While we hope Christmas Gift will be the centerpiece of the seasonal music played in the home, our main desire is that it be used for outreach to relatives, friends, business associates...all circles of influence.”
Christmas Gift is available for pre-order now on site at the church or at www.christmasgiftcpc.com. Physical and digital copies will be available beginning Nov. 6, with proceeds from the sale of Christmas Gift benefitting Heart for Children, a ministry of Christ Presbyterian’s Shepherding Center. Also, those who purchase a copy of Christmas Gift will receive a special printed invitation to the church’s Dec. 11 Christmas Gift concert. Visit www.christpres.org for additional details.
